Project Category: Other Pre-Stressed Applications

"The precast concrete stair was a critical element in our Springville K-8 school design for Beaverton School District - and when we were told it couldn’t be built, we knew we had to find another subcontractor. Arcis-Corp was able to not only meet the architectural design and structural requirements; they provided a finished product that exceeded our expectations."

Beaverton K-8 Stairs Treads and Landings

Beaverton, Oregon

Highlights

  • Thin architectural sections
  • Long span treads
  • Crack and warp resistant construction
  • Architectural finish
  • Durability against sever use

Our thin prestressing technology was used to create a thin, long span structural stair tread.  The steel stairs had already been constructed when the project team found that their contracted precast supplier could not make the thin section.  By highly prestressing the section, Arcis was able to engineer and construct the treads without any adjustments to the existing steel.
