Project Category: Thin Pre-Stressed Decking

Eleventh Street Float - Marine Floats

Tacoma, Washington

Location:
Tacoma, Washington

Decking Highlights

  • Concrete Decking without concrete floats
  • Large panels, long span capability
  • Light color to match grating
  • Non corrosive type 316 SS reinforcing
  • Light weight, less floatation cost
  • Removable and reusable picking eyes

Arcis thin deck panels are compressed with type 316 stainless steel wires, similar technology to bridge construction on a very small scale, creating a strong and even flexible panel.

The thin concrete deck panels can be easily replaced or removed to access utilities.  Panels can be cut or core drilled.  The material is 3 times the strength of normal concrete and is proportioned to be non absorbent and freeze thaw resistant in a marine environment.  The panels are typically sized for each job and can be made up to 6’ x 12’ panels, and can be engineered for most any loading or span conditions.

The panels span further than conventional decking materials so less framing structure is required, combined with the light weight this can result in a cost savings over a dock system with wood, composite or conventional concrete decking.
